I love Jeannet Winterson, and was actually just thinking the other day i needed a Winterson fix and was going to go searching for one of her books in the English section of the rather over-priced Brussels bookstore.

This is very welcome, very serendipitous and very exciting! Thank so much Tokorua--- will be sure to pass on the good bookcrossing karma!

Good book, as usual from Jeanette Winterson! However, i am only giving it a rating of 7, just because, compared to some of her other ones (ie: Lighthousekeeping, Sexing the Cherry, etc...) it just didn't quite live up to the standards. I think she is not a natural comedian. Part of me felt like with this book, she was trying to do a bit of Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams, treading into the comically absurd. Sometimes it worked, but in my opinion, most times it didn't.

But all said and done, i loved Gloria's mother, i loved and hated Bunny Mix, and i thought the character of God and its genesis into being was great!

Will be leaving this on Rue de Midi, near the second hand bookshops, as I go to refresh my bookshelf-- am almost out of English reading material. Yikes!

Went to look for a book during my lunch break and found (bought it for 2€) this one in one of the second hand shops...

I had never heard of bookcrossing before and was intrigued so I just signed up, but really have to do some work now, so no time to read just yet.

I finished the book a couple of days ago... I thought it was a fun read, but I've enjoyed other Winterson books more. There's just too many bad jokes eclipsing the good ones.
I am still very happy to have found it though, and to have thus discovered this community of book lovers.
I will release it later today!!

I'm looking forward to reading another winterson novel, will be taking it with me on a trip to new york so possible it will be released again on the other side of the ocean!
