What a wonderful surprise RABCK I came home to today! Thanks so much for all these wonderful books from my wishlist, Waterfalling. How did you know that life has been pretty sucky lately? What a nice surprise! Looking forward to this one too.

Journal Entry 4 by MaryZee at Taneytown, Maryland USA on Saturday, July 17, 2010
I absolutely loved this book! Wonderful, special characters, unusual situations, certainly not your stereotypical Southerners. What a great cast of characters! Resolute Milan, stalwart Mavis, tragic Jeter, confused Wood, and wonderful father Brundidge. And Duff, coming back to the group after spending 20 years away. I wondered at the very beginning of this book how I would keep all these characters separate in the story, but that really wasn't a problem as they were all so unique. I feel like I could ride down to Paris, Arkansas now and meet them all! Thanks for sending me this wonderful book, Waterfalling! (I wonder where I found the recommendation from now, somewhere here on BC I'm sure.) This book will soon be going off to a new home, as a prize in my 8th BCversary RABCK celebration.

This book arrived in yesterday's mail. Thanks SO much, Mary Zee! I am so looking forward to reading it. I *loved* "Designing Women"; I thought the snappy, witty dialogue was so brilliant, and I very much admired the Thomasons' writing. And I truly mourned when Dixie Carter (aka Julia Sugarbaker) died recently. I trust this book will bring that whole culture back to life.

Journal Entry 7 by ComradeCamper at Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin USA on Sunday, September 05, 2010
Last week I took this book to my book club. When it was my turn to talk about the most recent books I'd read, I asked "Who in this group was a fan of 'Designing Women'?" Seven hands shot up! The friend who raised her hand first got the book. The woman next to her got "next dibs". It looks like this book may be passed around through our entire bookclub....
