It's not every day that you come across a naked man on the side of the road. That's why cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse doesn't just drive on by. Turns out the poor thing hasn't a clue who he is, but Sookie does. It's Eric the vampire -but now he's a kinder, gentler Eric. And a scared Eric, because whoever took his memory now wants his life. Sookie's investigation into who and why leads traight into a dangerous battle among witches, vampires, and werewolves. But a greater danger could be to Sookie's heart -because this version of Eric is very difficult to resist...

I'll give the book for Kemppu today in our local BC-meeting.
Sookie's with me! I began reading right away.
By the way, I wasn't able to contact Kuukku with the former Sookie book either, so it's quite probable that I'll sent this book to TracyW next, too...

On the other hand I liked that Sookie wasn't beaten up again in this book, but on the other hand, there was too much waiting and not enough happening in it. Still, Sookie hasn't yet lost her charm with me, the book was entertaining. I'm going to check out how the series continues now that Sookie books are more easily available also here in Finland.

I'm liking this series much more now. Eric is far more interesting, even having lost his memory, than Bill ever was (plus the name is better, I mean, Bill is my uncle). I did think that the pace of the plotting was off on this one, not a big buildup, but instead Sookie wanders around gathering clues, then suddenly they have the big fight, and she discovers her brother.
On the other hand, Charlaine's got a lot going on, and is complicating her world steadily, with weres, and a strange inbred group out of town, and witches, but I'm not sure how much all these additions add to the story. None of them really seem distinctive, unlike how Kelley Armstrong's different races are. Hmm, I'm not sure about this.

Entertaining book, and it is good that Harris is making her supernatural world more complicated, like TracyW said. I hope this series keeps getting better, because I am only just starting to enjoy the ride.

The book arrived today!
I really enjoyed this one too. Easy to read and the world of the book pulls you in. So these books are nice little snacks between other books. I didn't mind that there was a lot of clue collecting going on. Maybe I'm just getting more into this world and the story and the images from the tv-series aren't so strong in my head anymore, but I thought the storyline in this one was clearer (just like in the one before this) than in the earlier ones.

Sorry for keeping (again) the book so long.
Woohoo, more Eric and less Bill in this book. Though the story was little more complicated, so much different things happening at the same time. I'm not sure, if I like that there're now more and more supernatural groups, hope it doesn't get of the control. But still, loved the book!

Surprisingly this has been by far the best book in this series! Very little of Bill, very weird Eric, Alcee, all sorts of mystical creatures and not too much violence. After Club Dead I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read more, but now I’m actually looking forward the next book.
