CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Beginning its BookCrossing journey to Booklady331. I hope you enjoy this little taste of Tuscany.
This book is inviting. Thank you so much for sharing with me on the Happy Day RABCK. I am so touched by your generousity. Not only 6 books, but books that were picked for me. You are super.
Starting this book tonight. I am looking forward to the book.
Completed yesterday. I tried to get it finished in March, but just too much to do to read. The book was interesting but didn't catch my attention. I am going to reserve this for an ABC bookbox for someone else to enjoy.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Enjoy! Off into JennyC1230 ABC bookbox to find a new reader.
I'm taking this out of JennyC1230's ABC bookbox. I've already read "A Thousand Days in Venice", also written by this author. It will be interesting to read the sequel.
This book made me think about the quality of our lifestyle here in the U.S. The people in the countryside of Tuscan seemed to have much more community and fellowship. On the other hand, it was a reality check to read about the poverty of the Tuscan people in the past. It was interesting to read about the food of Tuscany. It made me understand further how big a part of preparing food and eating food together is part of the lifestyle of Italy. I will never wander through the woods looking for fresh greens to eat, but eating together is a big part of family life and friendship.

Wow! This little book has travelled a lot!
Thanks to twbby-cat-owner for sending it along to me! It looks like exactly the kind of book I enjoy! Travelling vicariously to Italy sounds lovely. Thanks also for the pretty book marker.

So this book is one that I picked up and put down numerous times. I found it very difficult to get into, even last year when I was planning a trip to Italy. I did finally finish it this week, and I have to say that the last few chapters were so very lovely. And so I am glad I didn't give up and move it along before I finished it, but that I stuck in and did finally finish it. Another reminder why I always try to finish a book once I've started. If I was rating this book only on the last third, I would give it 8/10, but since I struggled so much I'm rating it lower.
I have a friend that I think would enjoy this very much. I will pass it along to her.
