Journal Entry 2 by safrolistics at Newbiggin-By-The-Sea, Northumberland United Kingdom on Sunday, August 08, 2010
Little Grandma listens to the dreams of her ancestors. They tell her when to harvest seaweed from the beach and where to look when Cousin Makoto misplaces his teeth. Aunt Pearlie is a devout member of the Buddhist Mission's Ladies Auxiliary. Every afternoon, from Little Grandma's front yard, she carries out her surveillance of the moral - and immoral - affairs of the village. And Hana's father spends his days transfixed by the sky .... A series of short stories, some intertwinned, evoking the everyday life of Hawaiian villagers.

A nice quick read! A collection of short stories following people in a community, which connect enough to give a picture of the community from different points of view.
