This slim volume is travelling with my Kids & YA bookbag. I thought it was an appropriate book to include as it is written by a children's lit expert and includes observations and recommendations of 'good' children's books.
It must stay with the bag but you are welcome to read and enjoy it before you move the bag on.

Maurice Saxby AM is an international expert on children's literature. He has written a number of books for children himself and taken part in numerous judging panels for children's literature awards. He is the author of the definitive three volume "A history of Australian children's literature."
This book is actually a lecture he gave in 2000 at St Andrews Cathedral School in Sydney: The seventh Royale Ormsby Martin Lecture.

Lisagt's kids and YA bookbag has arrived (I think on Friday - we are just back from a weekend at the beach and picked up our mail).

I read this book while waiting for our dial up to connect and reconnect when it dropped out twice, I am going to move to satellite soon!!

I've read many of the recommended books and so have my children, I've picked out a few more to add to the list.

Now to ponder over our choices from the baggy.
