Didn't enjoy this as much as the original Diary, but still a very nice way to while away a few hours. Preferably in the company of Colin Firth - failing that some chocolate and a couple of glasses of wine should provide the required ambience..;O)

This is a spare copy I picked up for a bit of bookcrosserly fun, and it'll be headed up North on Monday. Happy reading, Barbara!

Another thank you to Lucy for sending me this. Hopefully I'll be able to (re) read it before the film comes out!

Release planned for Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at ... by mail :) in Sent to a fellow BookCrosser, Bookring Controlled Releases.

Received as a RABCK from Lucycat, but passing on to Blithe10 first as I'm not in a position to read it straight away.

10 st + (ahhh!), cigarettes 0 (v.g. six years cig free and still counting), calories 0 (v.g.! but I did just get out of bed...there are doughnuts on the horizon calling my name). Books caught through Book Crossing 1 (my first catch!! V.G.!)

Well, after over a year Book Crossing I finally asked for a book! Go me, getting all brave and stuff. Must remember it was fun and painless, and I got to talk to new people too. Book Crossing is indeed a wonderful place to belong.

Since it's publication I've been firmly in the corner of the anti-Bridget brigade. I don't diet, I don't worry about being single (in fact I love it!), and my mother is wonderfully laid back and would never try to fix me up with anyone.

Then I saw the movie.

I have a near pathological dislike for Hugh Grant (having been close to marrying a clone), and so I was braced for serious revulsion. It didn't happen. Grant didn't bumble his way ineffectually through a romance, and instead he was forceful, slimy and a total b**tard! Yay him! I could relax and enjoy the movie, and I really did! Not only because as much as I dislike Hugh I adore Neil Pearson!

The script was slick and visually hilarious, and it was that moment I decided that if I ever got the chance I would read the book...but I decided to read this sequel first, the theory being that as I won't know the story I will be able to over look the weight obsession etc. and just engross myself in fresh humour. I find myself really wanting to like this book, and I hope I do.

Thank you LucyCat for making this available, and thank you GlasgowGal for having a huge tbr pile:) I'll pass this back to GlasgowGal when I've read it...which could be very soon. Stay tuned for the post book analysis:)

Received the book in the mail this morning from Nikki/Blithe10. Hopefully I'll get round to reading this very soon.

(This must be the most-travelled, least-read BookCrossing book ... LOL!)

Well this book finally found its way to the top of my TBR pile, and it was just what I needed for a few hours escapism. Of the two, I still prefer the original "Bridget Jones' Diary", but this is a worthy sequel. Of course if you've seen the first film, it does make for interesting imagery with Mark Darcy and Colin Firth being one and the same! I wanted to read this before the film was released, so thank you to lucycat for passing this on to me. This will be coming with me to the UK National BookCrossing Meet this weekend to hopefully continue on its journey.

I caught this book at the Birmingham Unconvention along with Bridget Jones's diary. I read the first one in no time and enjoyed it greatly, so I can't wait to get stuck into this one.

I was determined to read this before I went to see the film, but now that I've read it I think I'll wait until it comes to a video shop near me...
It was just as easy to read as the first volume, and I got through it in one afternoon curled up on the sofa. However, I did feel that it was just more of the same, and in the same way that I wouldn't re-read Bridget Jones, I didn't get a huge amount out of reading this one.
A good book if you are in need of a pick me up, or just fancy some pure escapism, but nothing worth dwelling on.
