When quiet Ellen Lang enters Elvis Cole's Disney-Deco office, she's lost something very valuable - her husband and young son. The case seems simple enough, but Elvis isn't thrilled. Neither is his enigmatic partner and firepower Joe Pike. Their search down the seamy side of Hollywood's studio lots and sculptured lawns soon leads them deep into a nasty netherworld of drugs and sex - and murder. Now the case is getting interesting, but it's also turned ugly. Because everybody, from cops to starlets to crooks, has declared war on Ellen and Elvis.

Yet another 50p bargain from the Forget-me Not, courtesy of PlumCrazy (Thanks). What you're getting rid of as part of the 2010 ultimate challenge (August Animals) I'm catching for the September 2010 "You're a Bit of an Animal" challenge!
May not get around to reading it - I've loads of "animal" books to read before the end of September!

7 out of 10

The graphic descritptions of the (many) fights leave little to the imagination! I'm so glad I took time out to read it. Is there a love affair developing between the strong but silent Joe Pike and the victim, Ellen? And where does Janet really fit into it all? Will the good guys win? Keeps you guessing to the last couple of chapters.
