7 out of 10

Over three hundred years ago a book is buried within the grounds of Oldstone Manor. There it lies, shrouded in a brooding curse, until one day the earth stirs and the book is discovered once more....

I was handed this book on the campsite by ParadizeApple who knows I like to read this kind of book. The book never made it to the tables in the Griffioen, at the Amsterdam Bookcrossing Convention 2010. Thanks for bringing the book along and giving it to me! I look forward to reading it.

6 out of 10

I finally came round to reading this book about two weeks ago. One other book and two audiobooks managed to wringle in between - that is to say it was not that captivating. Nice little story if nothing better is around but clearly ment for younger readers. In contrary to "Harry Potter" from book 3 on or "His dark Material" this one stays simple and short. Even if sequels were to be had I will not not go looking for them. I´d recomment the book for Kids between 12-14.
I dear say I found a gap or two in the logic of the book (fiction DOES have to make sense in contrary to real life ;-).

Took it with me in Rennerod mainly out of curiosity - the title suggests that there are approx. two books in the world...
Thank you!

Now I broke the system by adding Rennerod to the wrong state - so sorry!

Thankfully the state issue got fixed.

On the book:
I'm not quite into this fantasy-knights-from-old-times-making-magic-happen thing, so it wasn't appealing to me very much. Plus I had to look up so many words not present in my everyday vocabulary.
However I realized that boarding schools in old castles seem to always make for good children's adventures.

I do like fiction for children, so I will give it a try :-)
