A good story - I liked how the characters were multi-dimensional and grew or discovered things about themselves. There was more to each character than you first thought - they became real people during the course of the book. The story explores some different thoughts such as going out of your boundaries and doing something you thought you'd never do - and liking it (Charles), regrets at not questioning a place in life given to you (Lydia), family secrets and how the past can shape you. A very rich story which read quickly.
