The Butcher's Boy

"The Butcher's Boy" is a classic early novel by Thomas Perry - one of his best and one of my favorites. My wife recently asked me why I would buy this book and read it again, when I have so many upstairs yet to read. Well, it was just for the pure pleasure of remembering this one from back in the 1980's.
Now, I am going to circulate this among friends with similar interests, beginning with a special couple from the bridge club, both of whom hopefully will enjoy reading this novel. I will update the routing subsequently.
Both enjoyed the book. Passed it in turn to a favorite bridge partner, who also liked it. Glad that all were happy.
Now routing it to my friend with whom I share the Thomas Perry books, both stand-alone and Jane Whitefield series. I anticipate she later will move it into the wild.
Don't miss this classic.

This is the first Thomas Perry book that I remember reading that was not part of the Jane Whitefield series.
Perry creates a case of colorful players in the "The Butcher's Boy" and keeps you guessing until the very end of the book. A classic page turner!
Thanks to my very thoughtful friend for passing this book along to me after he and others had enjoyed it.
I plan to pass it along to another friend who enjoys this style of writing.

This is an excellent book. I enjoy reading mysteries and this one had more depth than the current run of the mill bestsellers. Even though it was written a good while back, you cannot tell it.
