I usually enjoy chick-lit a lot but I guess when you combine it with fantasy then it isn't quite my cup of tea...I did read the book though but it didn't sweep me off my feet...and it didn't get me to forget all the stress in the real world... This book will travel onwards to a new reader as soon as I get to the post office some time next week:)

When I picked up this book to read it, I expected a frivolous modern story about the irritating and often boring happenings at work. In Hollywood, this book would be described as The Office meets Camelot. It was unpleasant to read about the cutthroat competition for a prize. However the final chapters of the book provided an unexpected, interesting and satisfying ending.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book has been added to the Bride of Potpourri Book Box. The box is being mailed to RubyRebel of Toledo, Ohio.
I'm claiming this well-traveled book from the Bride of Potpourri bookbox despite the mixed reviews; it looks like it might be fun!
The book opens with the line "Stop kicking me", an intriguing hook. Main character Arthur seems to be having a bit of a midlife crisis (he's only in his late 30's, but still...), with a girlfriend who wants to have a baby and a job that's getting on his nerves. But things are about to change...
It didn't take me long to see the tie-ins to a very well-known legend, and I liked the concept of taking corporate team-building into medieval role-playing and beyond. But the characters themselves didn't really hold my interest, and I kept skimming forward to see the next weird plot-thread {wry grin}.
And things do get weird - and increasingly grim, as the darker elements of fantasy and myth come into the story. But it's an all-too-real element that winds up being lethal, something that took me by surprise.
Overall, I'm not sure that the story worked, but bits and pieces impressed me, especially the love-triangle-realization-moment.
