I really enjoyed this book, I thought that it was better than The Savage Garden, which was his last novel. I found the setting in Malta during WW2 fascinating and was caught up in the story very quickly, all in all a very satisfying read.

I picked this book up in the summer, on a tour of OBCZ's with Colchester Karen. I'm long overdue in journalling it, because I got caught in a stupid tussle about trying to get the photos of our day off Mr Potok's phone... and then it got buried on Mount TBR. Sorry about that!
