Book Description:

Overweight and depressed, Claudia Shear eats her way through 64 menial jobs in this true account of a woman's life at the edges of society. Artist's model, receptionist at a whorehouse, waitress, proofreader, Shear is the underling's underling and gives us a droll, insightful and ultimately frightening look at the inner lives of those who serve us. Do you ever wonder what the person who asks you, "Would you like fries with that?" is thinking--about you and herself? Shear knows--and tells us with wit and compassion. A thought-provoking and funny glimpse of the nameless workers who make the world go round.

This is a former library book I bought for 10 cents at a library sale in Canton, Georgia.

Book Review:

This book was different. I thought it would be more a funny book about a girl who works at several different jobs. It was funny, but it was funny in a dark way. I felt there should have been more personal things about the author, it felt like there should have been more to the story.

Reserved for a Bookbox.

I took this from JennyC1230's Biography/Autobiography/Humor Bookbox. I often feel as if I'm being blown sideways through life:)

I agree with JennyC1230. This was dark humor and I also felt that there should have been more to the story. That being said, it was an interesting book.
