From back cover:
In 1763, the young James Boswell was introduced to the poet, lexicographer, critic and moralist Samuel Johnson. Here he records the many meetings he enjoyed and the lively conversation that flowed in London's taverns and coffee-houses. Despite Johnson's reputation for abrasiveness and his much documented antipathy towards the Scots, the two developed an affecionate friendship.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Just a quickie. And a littlie. Here in Osaka's airport, just to mark the visit, which was delightful.
[LATER] Those green cakes were delightful! Not a cupcake with green icing, but something... rather... different.
I was astonished to learn more of this little book's ongoing story, post-volcano, here and here.

It was a delightful surprise to find it tucked in a nook at Kansai Airport on April 12. Very interesting and enjoyable - but Dr Johnson and James Boswell were quite a pompous duo.
