These are always a safe bet for an easy read, you really know what you will be getting but they are sweet & moralistic stories - many similar morals as some of the Paulo Cohelo books, without the lecture, I find. Apologies to those who find this a strange comparison).
I did think this was a bit of a cop out though. Many things have happened to the characters in previous books - Mma Ramotswe got married and acquired 2 foster children, her assistant started her own business and found a fiance..... nothing of note happens in this book at all. I feel guilty because at one point, I thought a character was going to be killed off and I was rather hoping he did. It would have been sad but perhaps held the attention a bit. Still, it was enough to keep me awake on the train home and prevent me from falling asleep and missing my stop - just. And you really can read this book in a few hours.
