Hi!

Thank you everyone for participating, I just can't wait to read what kind of vegetarian recipes you added in!!! yum!

Here are the bookring rules:

In order to maintain privacy, only the Bookcrossing member name of the participants will be posted. When you receive the book, journal it, so we'll know you got it. When you are ready to send the book along, send a PM to the next person on the list asking them for their address details. If you do not hear from that person within 10-14 days, then PM the next person on the list and so on until you receive confirmation that someone is still willing to be part of the bookring and then pass it along, and journal the departure of the book! You are welcome to put as many recipes as you'd like, but since this is a blank journal w/limited pages, I will figure out what the max number of pages and will let you guys know. As far as time limitation-- How about 2 weeks max? I think that will give you guys enough time to write everything down, but... if you need more time, just let me know :o)

That's it! If you have any questions, send me a PM.

Enjoy!

Journal Entry 2 by IACBY from Shaker Heights, Ohio USA on Tuesday, July 22, 2003
Finally, I'm done! I'm sorry it took me so long to get the journal ready-- I was preoccupied with silly med-school applications :o) (ok- I was buried in them, I had no time for anything else!)

I'm sending the journal to mysteryfan03 today!
I hope everyone enjoys!

Journal Entry 6 by Alex-the-Cat from Laramie, Wyoming USA on Thursday, September 4, 2003
The journal arrived in the mail last weekend. It looks really great so far! I'm still deciding which recipes I want to share, but the journal should be ready to move on in the next week or so.

Note to mysteryfan03: Even though I live in Kentucky, I'm a Yankee girl. I've never had fried green tomatoes, so thanks for sharing that!

The vegetarian recipe journal arrived today and the recipes look yummy. Only my daughter is a vegetarian but I try to make meals that the whole family can eat. Skipping meat anytime is good for everyone. My daughter does still eat dairy so I hope that my recipes will be okay. I don't think I could live without cheese. No offense to any vegans out there.

I mailed this on Friday but forgot to record the bcid# so I can't figure out how to make a new journal entry. I hope someone is able to correct this for me.

Journal Entry 9 by thnxandyc from Homer City, Pennsylvania USA on Sunday, October 26, 2003
The veggie journal was great. I wasn't able to add any pictures but I enjoyed the ones the other bookcrossers added to their recipes. I would like to see this again when it goes completely around. It is now winging its way to Sherria. My recipes were for outdoor cooking. I hope someone somewhere still has some nice weather to cook out.

Journal Entry 10 by Sherria from Bethel, Connecticut USA on Monday, November 24, 2003
Yikes! This arrived while I was moving, and got tucked away with stuff that needed to be unpacked. I just came across it tonite. I plan to read through it this week and add some recipes of my own, then send it on to the next person. I can't wait to try some new dishes!

Journal Entry 11 by Sherria from Bethel, Connecticut USA on Friday, November 28, 2003
Wow, this was great fun! I added a bunch of recipes (mine aren't as pretty as some of the others, but they're yuymmy) and read over the ones everyone else has contributed so far. There are some great ideas in there! Are we going to be able to see the finished compliation?

Just FYI, the page numbers jump from 39 to 50. I really didn't write a 10 page recipe!

Off to cafemundo, as soon as I get an address.

Journal Entry 12 by IACBY from Shaker Heights, Ohio USA on Friday, November 28, 2003
Tee-Hee! After 39 comes 50.... that's b/c I can't count :o) I'm so glad everyone is enjoying making the journal-- I can't wait to see it at the end. As far as seeing the completed journal, well, we can either pass it again, or I will scan all of the pages in so everyone will enjoy it forever and will have continuous access to it. Let me know guys :o)

This WAS great fun! I hope we can get to see the completed book sometime. I have to make a plug here for buying local food. It's an important way to help your local farmers, help the economy, and stay healthy. Please visit the FoodRoutes
to get information on buying local foods. Thanks IACBY for starting this journal and letting us share great recipes!

Sending to jenny-lou-who next week!

My apologies for hanging on to this journal for so long -- I've been out of town a lot lately, and it just slipped my mind.

Anyhow, I loved the different recipes that were in this journal. This is going to be a great little collection. I've added a few and am now ready to send this book on to the next person in line.

Journal Entry 17 by HikingReader from Las Vegas, Nevada USA on Friday, April 9, 2004

This great looking recipe book arrived in the mail today. I have the advantage of being near the end of the ring and having lots of terrific looking recipes (already in there) to try out!
I've got several family favourites to add before I send it on its merry way.
Thanks IACBY, a great idea.

It's on its way, mailed off to Banana this morning. Bon appetit.

Well, I checked my mailbox today, and I saw this ominous white package addressed to "Banana." I knew instantly it was the cookbook because I have been waiting its arrival for some time. So, I opened it, took a look, and was amazed at all the wonderful recipies that I could use! WOO-HOO!
Now, there's a good, a bad, and an ugly to this enthralling tale. The good: I now have tons of new recipies to try out so I can actually pretend I know what I'm doing in the kitchen. The bad: I can't cook to save my life. The last time I made chicken (which I don't even like anymore- it was for my dog), she puked it up. She NEVER does that to chicken. The ugly: Low-Carb Diets. I mean, I finally gave up meat, and now they want me to give up breads and fruits as well? What's next?..."Water's bad for you, drink beer" (I'm Pete Coors and I approve this message).
Now that I'm no longer making sense, I'm off to write down recipies. TTFN!

Wow!!! What a book! You guys are amazing!

As I am in med school at the moment, don't have a scanner and very much out of time (ahhhhh!) I'll scan this when I get home to either the thanksgiving or winter break.

Thank you for everyone who participated, it's just amazing!

Journal Entry 24 by IACBY from Shaker Heights, Ohio USA on Thursday, January 6, 2005
Hi everyone,

Okay, a short update-- I scanned the whole book into my old computer at home, put it all into a word document, and when attempted to post it on my personal (non BC) website I had a problem. The file is too large for the site to support. I then attempted to send it over by email, with the thought that I could email the book to anyone who wanted it, but alas, much to my chagrin, the file was way too big to attach.

Anyways, now I'm back at school, and very annoyed that my attempt wasn't successful.

I have 2 ideas-- the first is-- when I go back home (which will probably be summer break), I would attempt to move the file to a newer computer that has a CD burner, and then I'll just make everyone a copy and send it via snail mail.

Or...

I could send it around to whoever would like to re-visit the book :o)

Let me know what you'd like to do-- or if anyone has a better idea...
Thanks!
