A genuine Basra pearl. Reading this book is akin to traveling through a composer's dream. Over trumpets in Eroica, Variations in K265, tonic home plates, Dixieland clarinets. I could go on.

Caught at February Boston Meetup, well, it was more pressed on me and I'm very much looking forward to reading it.

8 out of 10

It seems I neglected to journal this when I finished it over the weekend. What a lovely Joy of Music it its indeed. It really is about how much Bernstein loves music and how much he wants to share that joy. My only complaint is that the TV scripts would be so much better if i]I were hearing all the music as well. Some I could pull out the recordings but others was just humming... thanks, Bhuri, a great read.

Picked up at bc meeting, local, Boston, a while ago. It would be more ideal if the book actually came with musical examples; maybe someone has done that on the internet or something. Otherwise a most effective read, and typical of Bernstein's ability to convey the "Joy of Music" to general audiences.
