When Ariel Manto uncovers a copy of The End of Mr. Y in a second-hand bookshop, she can't believe her eyes. She knows enough about its author, the outlandish Victorian scientist Thomas Lumas, to know that copies are exceedingly rare. And, some say, cursed. With Mr. Y under her arm, Ariel finds herself thrust into a thrilling adventure of love, sex, death and time-travel.

I finished this book a couple of weeks ago but needed sometime as to decide what to say about it - two weeks on I still don't know!

It's not like anything I've read before, I thoroughly enjoyed it, although parts of it didn't make sense to me at the time & reflecting on them now they make even less sense!
The idea of the Troposphere made sense (sort of!!) within the context of the story but afterwards there seems to be a few holes & loose ends which I can't tie up. Okay, case in point - Ariel is found in a room unconscious, an ambulance was called & she's officially in a coma...yet she comes back from the Troposphere to find herself on her way to Torquay! Did her body just vanish from the hospital?!

All-in-all, yes I did enjoy this book, just don't ask me to explain it..... ;o)
