Journal Entry 1 by grubsneerg from Greensburg, Pennsylvania USA on Sunday, May 2, 2010
Bought at the Christian Layman Corps store in Greensburg, Pa., to read and release in the wild. I read all the original Nancy Drew mysteries more than once when I was a child, so I'm hoping to enjoy this.

Journal Entry 2 by grubsneerg at Sunset Beach, North Carolina USA on Sunday, August 22, 2010
I took this book on vacation with me to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, because I thought it would be charming and light, requiring little thought as I sat on the beach under an umbrella. I really wanted to like it, but in the end, it was just "eh." Though there were subtle and not-so-subtle nods to classic literature dealing with nannies and governesses, the Nancy Drew part just didn't click for me. Perhaps I need to go back and reread all 56 original books to see if the author was cleverer than I think; I'm just not that interested in knowing.
