n. [kar-r? pil-b?] A person of high intelligence who struggles to make sense of the world as it relates to morality, relationships, sex and leaving her apartment.

"I wouldn't have such trouble adjusting to the world if the world made sense. Which it doesn't . . . maybe the world should adjust to me."

Carrie Pilby doesn't fit in - and she's pretty much given up trying. A year out of college and settling in to life in the big city, this nineteen-year-old genius believes everyone she meets is immoral, sex obsessed and hypocritical, and the only person she sees on a regular basis is her therapist. When he comes up with a five-point plan to help her discover the "positive aspects of social interaction," Carrie, who would rather stay home in bed, is forced to view the world in a new light.

See life through Carrie's eyes as she opens up to unusual characters, gets herself into compromising situations and casts her keen eye on the ways people interact. Filled with wry humor and insight, Carrie Pilby explores the trade-offs we all make to fit in.

Bookray Rules

1. Reading has to be relaxing, I find. So I'm not going to set a rule that you have to finish the book within one month or within three weeks. But, of course it's not preferable that the book will stall somewhere. Please keep in mind others are waiting to read the book so keeping it for two months is not appropriate either. If you don’t think you will be able to read the book in a timely manner, please let me know. I can move you further down the list, if necessary.

2. When the book arrives, please let us know that you received it, by making a journal entry.

3. Start reading :-) When you're more than halfway through the book, PM the next person for their address.

4. When you've finished the book, make another journal entry with your thoughts.

5. Release the book to the next person on the list.

6. The last person on the list may release the book in the manner of their choosing!

7. Have Fun & Happy Reading!

This was a GREAT book! It is the first of the Red Dress Ink books I have read, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I really enjoyed it, though at first it was somewhat annoying. The first couple of pages really makes Carrie look like a stuck up brat in my opinion. The author hits the fact that she is intelligent just a little too hard. Once that relaxes, though, the story really shines through. I can understand a lot of Carrie's dilemas. I will definately be looking for more of the Red Dress Ink books. This book is off to amymehta as soon as I get an address.

What a good book! I really enjoyed it, although it took me a bit of time to get into the main character and all of her questions. I see why this was so highly recommended!

I apologize for keeping this book in my possession for so long. It was misplaced in a move and I finally was able to finish it. I enjoyed this book immensely! It's now one of my favorite chick-lit books I've read so far. The character was developed and I loved the way the book stressed her intelligence. Thanks for sharing!

I'll be mailing this to wizardsheart this week!
