Book Description:
Gethers's style is extremely light and at times funny as he tells how Norton taught him to like cats, how easily this feline made friends with airline crews, explored Parisian rooftops, and stood vigil at the death of his owner's father. Chapters of Gethers's book open with appealing line-drawing caricatures. Animal lovers are sure to enjoy these stories of an amazing cat.

My Review:
When I saw the cover of this book I thought I would probably want to read it! The author always said that he "hated cats" until a friend gives him a kitten as a gift and he promptly falls in love with Norton. He takes Norton everywhere and enjoys giving him independance. He talks about how if Norton liked someone then it was a good person/friend/girlfriend, but if he didn't like them then it turned out they weren't so great. One example of this is when Norton took an instant dislike to Peter's latest girlfriend. Peter later found out he wasn't the only boyfriend she had!
I think most pet lovers and especially cat lovers would enjoy this book. I found out there are two more books written about Norton: A Cat Abroad: The Further Adventures of Norton and The Cat Who'll Live Forever.
