I picked this up at MeetUp some time ago and it wasn't registered so I'm registering it now.

And right after registering it, i decieded to not finish it. I was doing okay at the begining, the main character was flawed but seemed interesting and I was intriguied by where it was going but suddenly, when he went to his daughter's farm, it became unbearably grim and very violent and I just gave up. I managed, with alot of skimming, the first bit of violence but when the second bit came, it was too much. I still have another Coetzee to read so perhaps I will fare better.
