This book came home in my Girls Only Book Box, and when I saw the cover it brought back memories. This is one of the books I read the summer of 1976 when I worked on a fire lookout. Thanks for including it.

The definitive biographical work on Churchill's inimitable mother. I read this book many years ago and can still remember some of Lady Churchill's life. I remember that I really enjoyed the book.

A wonderful book, I enjoyed it hugely! It was kind of like watching the BBC series "The Pallisers," but better because it had more detail, and because I could go back and pick up earlier sections over and over. Thanks to everyone who generously passed this on so I'd have the chance to read it. Special thanks to loriped for mentioning the fire lookout - I have such a vivid mental image of you living in a lonely forest cabin with binoculars always hung around your neck, but through this book watching the glittering balls of the London Season, and reliving Jennie's dramatic life.
