Thanks! I tried the Dutch version of this book last year, but I didn't like it very much. I'm going to try this English version for sure, because I think books are always better in their original language!
Again, I read the first 50 pages or so, but I just can't get into the story. Will therefore be released soon!
Will be released at a mini-bookcrossing meeting in Rotterdam tomorrow.
Edit: No one wanted this book, so it's still available on my bookshelf.

Journal Entry 9 by Lunabooks from Bodegraven, Zuid-Holland Netherlands on Wednesday, October 27, 2004
Is going to Leiden with me tomorrow, I'm giving it to another BookCrosser for bringing me some books.
I met Lunabooks this afternoon at the station in Leiden for a very quick book transfer and she had brought along "Divine Secrets" for me to read. Thanks Lunabooks, that was a nice suprise!
Over the past few years, I sometimes tried my hands on this book, reading the first few pages and then stopping again. But this year I finally read it from cover to cover. It takes some time to get into it, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected. The family and friendship relationships are described so vividly, and all the senses play a part in this story. I felt really connected to the story and the characters, sometimes after reading I actually had to take some time to adjust to the real world for a moment... What a beautiful book, and one I probably would never have picked out myself. Apparently there's also a movie adaptation, and I think I would like to see that one. Not right away, but in time I'll definitely watch it.
