Back cover:
The how of Pooh? The Tao of who? The Tao of Pooh!...in which it is revealed that one of the world's great Taoist masters isn't Chinese...or a venerable philosopher...but is in fact none other than that effortlessly calm, still, reflective bear, A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh!

While Eeyore frets...
...and Piglet hesitates
...and Rabbit calculates
...and Owl pontificates
...Pooh just is.

And that's a clue to the secret wisdom of the Taoists.

I read this book at the same time as "The road less travelled" by M. Scott Peck. It turned out to be a great mix, they complement each other. I picked a quotation that best defines the greatest lesson I learned from the reading:
"Within each of us there is an Owl, a Rabbit, an Eeyore, and a Pooh. For too long we have chosen the way of Owl and Rabbit. Now, like Eeyore, we complain about the results. But that accomplishes nothing. If we are smart, we will choose the way of Pooh. As if from far away, it calls to us with the voice of a child's mind. It may be hard to hear at times, but it is important just the same, because without, we will never find our way through the Forest."

A great little introduction to Taoism. It provoked a lot of discussion between my husband and me about our tendencies - he is a Rabbit/Eeyore mix and I have less Eeyore but more Owl. We both agreed we need to develop our Pooh side. It's fun looking out for Bisy Backsons now too (yes there are people we think are even more Rabbity than us!)

I really enjoyed the Chinese tales sprinkled through the book as well. Thanks Wildflower67! Now on its way to thescreaming.

Sorry it took me so long to get this book out. There was some misscommunication and it took me a while to read the book. I enjoyed reading the book but I really didn't get into it. I sent it off the Texaswaren this afternoon.

I never heard from fruitbat, and booknhand found it elsewhere, so Pooh is on his way home.

I really liked this book, but I have to say that I didn't finish it. I found myself going back and re-reading, until I had had it so long, I was ashamed. This is one of those books that I need to own. Then, we something comes up that reminds me of something in the book, I have it handy to go back and look it up. Next trip to the USB, I will look for a copy for my PC.

Thank you for introducing me to this little jewel. I enjoyed it a lot.
