I enjoyed this more than By The River Piedra but less than Veronika Decides to Die, the other two books in the "And on the Seventh Day" trilogy. Set up like all his books with a moral/spiritual message, the unfolding of the dilemmas faced by the inhabitants of Viscos was interesting and the ending apt.
