Journal Entry 1 by mellion108 from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan USA on Saturday, June 21, 2003
I might actually read this one since the description sounds interesting. If there is enough interest, I'd like to do this as a bookray. Book description from Amazon.com: On April 15, 1906, two baby boys entered the world. One was born to a life of prosperity and ease, the other to a world of hardship and struggle. On different sides of the globe, they grew up -- one shaped by a luxurious upbringing, fine schools, and a history he read; the other well tempered by war, slavery, and the history he was part of. William Lowell Kane, scion of a Boston banking family, and Abel Rosnovski, penniless Polish immigrant -- one is gold, the other steel. Rosnovski is Kane's ultimate adversary, while Kane embodies everything that Rosnovski stands against. In their relentless battle, both men know that there can be only one victor -- and one vanquished. Across three generations and around a rapidly changing world, their war rages unchecked, for the love of a dream, the loss of an empire, and the lure of a fortune.

Journal Entry 4 by squirrel818 from Tafton, Pennsylvania USA on Saturday, August 09, 2003
It took me a while to really get into this book. It's not the sort of fiction I normally read. I did think it was intersting though even if it was a bit predictable. I'll be passing it on to the next person in the ring.

Journal Entry 6 by mellion108 from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan USA on Thursday, October 02, 2003
Well, this book is DEFINITELY somewhere in the wild. Unfortunately, it never made its way to cyber-librarian in Illinois. I hope that a postal worker or someone else finds it and enjoys it. But good news! Cyber-librarian purchased another copy of this book and plans to continue the ray. The new journal entries for the new copy of the book can be seen at: Kane & Abel. Thank you cyber-librarian! You have gone above and beyond the call of BookCrossing duty!

I received this today. I have about 10 bookrings in front of it, but I'll try to get to it as soon as I can. It looks like I'm at the end of the ray, so if you want me to send it back to you, JDT, when I'm done (probably in March at this point), I can do so. Thanks so much!

Journal Entry 13 by Tamster33 from San Francisco, California USA on Wednesday, July 07, 2004
Resurrection I didn't realize that Mellion108 was trying to reach me about these books because I never got her PMs. I guess I've kept this bookway too long, but life gets in the way of my reading sometimes:( I'm mailing this off to the next person in line. Hopefully I'll have a chance to read it at a future time. Thanks for the opportunity and sorry to have kept the book so long.
