This would be an excellent book for someone living with a person who has Alzheimer's disease. It is a helpful reference for others as well.

Picked up at the BC Meet-Up this week at Tim Horton’s coffee shop. Looks like a valuable resource book, Nelle - thanks.
As I was reorganizing my bookshelves today I found this book that I had picked up 3 years ago . . . today it is even more relevant for me to read as I support my Dad who is caring for my Mom. I forgot that I had this book and am so happy to have found it on my bookshelf. It is a relevant and very 'readable' book - - I've already finished the first chapter. Thanks Nelle . . . a positive way for me to start 2013.
An excellent resource book and set up in a way that it is very easy to read, with charts on strategies / tips and testimonials from others who have taken the journey of caring for a loved one with dementia.
Passed this book on to my Dad yesterday, for him to read as well and then will pass on to my sister and brother.

This book was given to me today by my sister. Thank you, starrdust.
I have finally read this book and it is very informative. There are a lot of great ideas about giving care and being with a person with Alzheimer Disease. It will serve as a good reference for helping our Mom who suffers from this terrible disease. One thing I found a bit odd is that throughout this book they refer to the disease as "Alzheimer's" (plural) which is not correct, although since this is an American book perhaps that is the way they use the term there.
