From the back cover:

In a world of shadows and dark, consuming hungers, desire is the deadliest weapon...

Fueled by pain and rage over a shattering betrayal, the warrior Rio has pledged his life to the war against the Rogues. He will let nothing stand in his way--least of all a mortal woman with the power to expose the entire vampire race. But now an ancient evil has been awakened,a nd a stunning darkness is on the rise.

For journalist Dylan ALexander, it began with the discovery of a hidden tomb. Suddenly she is at the center of a gathering storm of violence and secrets. But nothing is as dangerous as the scarred, lethally seductive man who rises from the shadows to plunge her into his world of dark desire and endless night. Here she is powerless to resist Rio's touch, even as she uncovers a shocking link to her own past. Now Dylan must choose: Leave Rio's midnight realm, or risk it all for the man who has shown her true passion and the infinite pleasures of the heart...

Even though all these vampires have their own personalities, they are all very handsome and I'd find it hard to pick just one I'd like. These books are great to read and I'm glad I'm getting through them so fast.

Another of the Midnight Breed Series I loved. Can't tell you that Rio was my favourite, but I do love the dermaglyphs these guys have... better than a tattoo any day!

My Review: This was a great story! Dylan is a journalist with a sick mother. Rio has been betrayed by his Breedmate and has many scars on his skin as well as beneath. These two characters seem to have nothing in common, but they get over that.

I mailed this book to Tsjara on Monday, along with (#3) Midnight Awakening. Thanks Sfogs, for starting this book spiral and for reminding me to get cracking on these books! :-)

Book 3 and 4 are here. Thanks again for sending them JennyC1230!
Poor Rio, he had a hard time in the previous books.. I wonder what will happen to him now.

Journal Entry 19 by Tsjara at Assendelft, Noord-Holland Netherlands on Thursday, November 17, 2011
I liked this one, kept me turning pages from the beginning. Rio and Dylan are a very sweet couple (hmm.. it did kind of make me think of stockholm syndrome - falling in love with your kidnapper? :p). The bit with the Ancient is still unresolved, and I wonder what will happen next..

Mailing this to penelopewanders tomorrow.

And number four! I see Vampirequeen is still on the list, but I thought she didn't want to get this spiral anymore? Or was it just the last book she didn't want? I'll check when I've read this. I seem to have a stack of non-fiction rings and rays which have rolled in recently - and it does take me a bit more time to read those. I'll try to slide this one in as I know there are people waiting for this with baited breath, so to speak. Thanks so much for making these books available, and for sending! Cheers from the very sunny Swiss alps (no rain in ages!!)

Excellent weekend read. Although initially irked by Dylan, I found she became more likeable as the novel progressed. Bit of a cliff-hanger until the next...

I got to this a bit sooner than expected so I still have to double-check whether vampirequeen really wants to be left out of this spiral or if it was just for the previous book. Thanks for making these available!

As Vampirequeen has now again confirmed with me (and hopefully the spiral leader as well...) that she does not want to take part in this spiral, this is on its way to Jonniboi in the UK. Enjoy! Thanks for making these available!!

just got this book through the post, and I'm excited, this series is getting better and better as each book goes by, and I can't wait to read it!

Journal Entry 25 by JonniC at Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Thursday, February 2, 2012
sorry it took me so long to get around to it.

I found it enjoyable to an extent, but it was definitely slow going at the start as it was very predictable, and there was nothing new, and I was just a little bored with it. This week I've been ill so I decided to read and finish the book, and towards the end, it picked up and I was happy that I plowed through it. I have the next book, but it's a little far down my list of bookrings/rays but I'm getting on top of things now since I'm currently ill and all I want to do is stay in bed and read :)
