Eternal life can be yours, for a price. Avery Cates is a gunner for hire. At 27 he knows he should be dead already. The Electric Church promises eternal life. How are they getting their recruits? Rumours abound that they are not volountering. You see the trouble is for you to gain eternal life in a new cybernetic body you have to be dead first. The Electric Chuch however are getting too big for the SSF (police) to handle. As they are a registerd religion the SSF can't touch them so in steps Avery Cates and his band of misfits. After killing a SSF officer he is on their most wanted list but if he can kill Dennis Squalor, the leader of the church, he will be a rich man and all will be forgiven. A totally rivitting read I was hooked from the off. Definately my sort of sci-fi. Set in a distopian view of the world. There are no individual countries only world citizens. A corrupt police force and cyborg monks. It's great I really loved it.It has a great cast of people and Avery Cates is a great lead character.
