So, what really did happen at the end of "Mostly Harmless?"
In the book version, the Vogons polished off the Earth and everyone on it. In the radio version, Arthur, Ford and the gang all escaped with some help from the Babel Fish, and ended up back at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe. "And Another Thing..." picks the story up from there.
