I bought Notes from an Exhibition because of the blurb mentioning an artist with depression, just like me! I enjoyed the way this book was written, unraveling Rachel’s character by jumping timelines and shifting perspectives, which left me slotting all the information together like a jigsaw puzzle. The portrait the author painted of the artist made her a really interesting character to get to know. Gale paced the book well and each chapter left me curious about the various threads mentioned, all of which wove together at the end into a satisfying conclusion.
