Chosen out of a box of books from Stichting Overal, Nijmegen, during a so-called Box Day at Moem's.

A book of humorous cartoons originally published in 'The New Yorker', with a preface by Dorothy Parker.

Mildly amusing cartoons from Thd New Yorker by James Thurber, published in 1943. There’s one with a woman asking her husband “Who is this Hitler and what does he want?”
There are also two that could have been used to illustrate Charles Saatchi grabbing his (now understandably ex) wife by the throat at a table outside a restaurant.

“Have you no code, man?”

“Here, here! There’s a place for that , sir!”
Presumably in private, where a passing member of the public can’t see you physically attacking your wife.
