Spellbinding. I approached this with some doubts, as i have had mixed feelings about her writing, but this is a wonderful book, about dreams, guilt, love and memories. Set in the New Zealand Goldrush of the 19th centruy, an emigrant couple start farming but are caught up in the empty promises of the goldrush.
