The Secret Life of Bees

A sweet coming-of-age story set in the southern US states during the 1960's. I found the book to be an easy, fast read, but no less special for that.
Released on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at The Health Food Shop, Baron Taylors Street in Inverness, Highlands Scotland.
Left on the shelf beside the jars and tubs of honey and honeycombs.

Found this at The Health Food Shop, Inverness beside the honey - very appropriate book to find there and took my fancy as I keep bees at the bottom of my garden. Haven't read it yet - but I'll come back again once I have. I'm sure once I've read it I'll release it into the wild again. I'm a member of a book group - we've talked about book crossing in the group and I'm looking forward to reporting at our next meeting that I actually found one!
I've had this book sitting on my shelf for a couple of years and have finally read it. I can't remember where I picked it up, possibly a book sale in cromatry.
Weirdly though I got lots of deja vu and felt like I'd read it before. Maybe at school?
Loved the overall story. There were a bit too many abstract "deep" moments towards the end though. I felt like the author was trying to be a bit too poignant as she was summing up. Really enjoyed it though - read it in a day! Tempted to keep it but this is the first time I've come across book crossing, and as this book hasn't been logged since 2003 i feel like I've got a chance to reboot its journey. :)
