Arrived safely, Dorng told me today. You rule svoight ^_^ the book is in Austin before me, waiting to be read. Looking forward to the book (and the first weeks there, before I'll be working and can enjoy reading more...)
'A bit like Godfather' is an understatement. A lot like Godfather. And different, fascinating, story with a lot of detail, following so many viewpoints and so many people...
Don Clericuzio is the Last Don, an old man who dreams of legitimizing the family's business by his sons and grandson or nephew. Dante, the grandson, and Cross, the nephew, are of the same age, and quite different. Gambling, Las Vegas, corruption, movies - moviemaking rotten characters and interesting actors, all they bundle together and spin until hte last page.
I don't know how this could be any better. The characters are fabulous - not all likable but still fabulous - the telling is great, and there are enough pages for a few evenings of entertainment.
