The author's previous books include 'The Kite Runner'. This is another story about life in Afghanistan, this time based on a woman's experience. I have to agree with some of the comments on the front page - once I started I couldn't put it down. My 15 year-old daughter also read it straight through. The story is about courage, strength and love even in the hardest of times.

I found this book today in a Cafe in Belconnen. I am about to embark upon a round the world trip. My plan is to read this book and then drop it off on the other side of the globe - my first stop is Lima, Peru. That sounds like as good a place as any to let this book back 'into the wild'.
Don't normally read fiction, but this was good as it was based on true values in Afganistan and could be a true depiction of a life in Afganistan. It was picked up by my sister in Cambodia and brought to England UK where I read it. It will probably go to a charity shop as I don't really know where else to leave it for someone else.
