I read this one back in July after I bought it off TradeMe.
I am very pro gay/lesbian marriage and believe that it in no way 'threatens' the institution of marriage. New Zealand has offered Civil Unions for some years now which is a good step in the right direction.
But putting aside other things for a moment, I loved this book for many reasons - the descriptions of the couples and their stories, the kindness of many of the people of 'frisco who helped out, support of family, friends and politicians who actually care the people they represent.
This book is a wonderful celebration of love and is very heart warming for the most part. There are sad parts and parts that are shocking in people's prejudice but this is for the most part a book that is very uplifting.
Passing this one on to good friends of mine who I think will love this book as much as I did.

Am three quarters the way through this book already, it's absolutely fantastic reading!!
I am very pro gay/lesbian marriage and beleive WE ALL as human beings have the right to marriage.
This book is well worth reading if only to see what and how others have to fight for the rights to be able to get married while most of us take it for granted! Apart from that it is very riveting reading and am sure simplyreflected will enjoy it!!
