Journal Entry 1 by catsalive from Rooty Hill, New South Wales Australia on Thursday, October 29, 2009
cover: 'It's very lonely, living a lie.' An early-morning murder in the park of a quiet country town. Two hitch-hiking girls, one of them guilty - one of them a liar. Four years on, Marion still has to know who killed her brother. The police, the press and ordinary people have lost interest in the case. She needs to call on Jefferson Shields - she's been told that he solves puzzles. Wakefield Crime Classics revives forgotten or neglected Australian crime and mystery fiction.

Journal Entry 2 by catsalive from Rooty Hill, New South Wales Australia on Thursday, October 29, 2009
First published overseas in 1970, this is an interesting period piece - before hitch-hiking became so dangerous. Marion was a bit of a drip and Jefferson a pompous ass, but it was an ejoyable read.
