Well... an interesting one this.
I thought it was very patchy, really - some bits really gripped and intrigued me (and not nessecarily the bits you would think), whereas in other places I found it really hard to keep my mind from wandering. Odd thing is: I cant put my finger on why...
I found the authors note at the end very entertaining - in fact had me laughing outloud, which was just what I needed after reading something so dark
I get the feeling I may want to re-read this in a few years to see how it takes a second time round, but in the mean-time this copy is ready to travel

Wow that was a speedy delivery! It just arrived 20 minutes ago! I really enjoyed the recent version of the film and kept meaning to look at the book and now this is the perfect chance! Thanks very much for the book and say thanks to your niece for selecting me again!

This one was a really mixed bag. Humbert of course is a dreadful human being and is not really meant to be a sympathetic character. Parts of the book were interesting and well written but I was driven mad by the way he uses 100 words when 10 would do the job, the over-descriptive waffle and long winded sentences. It left me thinking 'what the hell is he on about now?' A bit too much of a struggle to keep my full attention on.
