really love the way Jodi Picoult gets inside all of the different characters heads and gives the reader a balanced, authentic feeling read of an awful situation. I guessed Josie and Peters ultimate secret, but had no idea how the story would play out. So I had to keep reading to find out what would happen. The time jumps were clever and well times, to give the reader the background to what you'd just read about the present. As I read onwards I kept on hoping for a John Grisham style recovery for Peter. But, there has to be consequences for all actions and even though I felt so bad for him, in the end I don't see how he could have had a different outcome. Poor kid. I don't know if it is just me, but we don't actually find out why (for sure), Peter tipped over the edge and did what he did. I'm guessing his defence was right after all, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, triggered by seeing that email again? This book is most definitely going to keep my brain active for a while.
