Een jongen van Texel heeft net gehoord dat hij een oogziekte heeft waar hij zeer slechtziend van zal worden. Hij moet leren omgaan met het verlies van zijn ogen en met het feit dat hij waarschijnlijk van het eiland af zal moeten om naar een speciale school te gaan. Het verhaal beschrijft hoe hij en zijn omgeving er mee om gaan. Mooi geschreven!

Voor de monopoly opdracht week 1: "IKEA". Nou heb ik niks tegen de produkten van Ikea -heb nog een bureautje en een paar kleine kastjes van meer dan twintig jaar geleden en ben er nog steeds tevreden mee. Wel heb ik iets tegen de massaliteit, en kijk met verbazing naar berichten als 'Verkeer muurvast bij IKEA', 'Problemen op A2 door IKEA' en vorig jaar werd zelfs een verkeersregelaar op de parkeerplaats doodgereden! Aanbiedingen zijn leuk, maar dit soort dingen vind ik krankzinnig. De titel 'blikschade' dus uitgezocht als mijn commentaar op dit soort drukte & chaos, en het boekje zal dus ook losgelaten worden op de parkeerplaats ipv binnen in de winkel. Hopelijk raken er geen mensen om slaags... ::rolls eyes::

For the monopoly game, week 1: "IKEA". I don't have a problem with IKEA's products -in fact I still have a desk and a few small shelves & bookcases I've happily owned for over twenty years. But I do have a problem with the enormous crowds flocking to the stores for special sales, and I've been shocked reading headlines like 'Traffic completely stuck at IKEA', 'Problems on highway due to IKEA', and last year someone even struck & killed a parking guard in the parking lot! Sales are cool but these kinda things are utterly ridiculous. The title of the book, ('Dents' or 'material damage') is my comment on this chaotic situation, and will be released at the parking lot rather than inside the store. Hopefully people won't fight over it! :P :P

(The Dutch word 'blikschade' means dents & scratches on a car, but in case of this book it is a play of words, if you translate the parts separately you would get 'look-damage'. The content of the book is about a kid losing his eye sight).
