From the back:

The power to endure the unendurable

It's 1942 and the fourteen-year-old Misha is struggling to stay alive, imprisoned inside his own home - the Warsaw Ghetto. And as the Nazi grip round the Jewish community tightens, Misha finds himself forced to risk his own life in order to save those he loves - his mother, sisters and friends...

This book made very challenging reading at times due to the content. I didn't expect the book to be a pleasant read but even I was shocked at times. The cruelty of the SS regime was unbelievable at times. The book is based on the true story of Dr Janusz Korczak and his dedication to improving the lives of the less fortunate Warsaw children. Other characters in the book are also based on real people, although some are also fictional.

I'm not entirely sure whther I would want to read this book again but I would possibly be interested in the sequel 'Beyond the Wall'.

Not picked up for trick-or-treat so available until I can think of a suitable release.
