Book arrived today. I love to travel so maybe it will be useful sometime. Thanks so much.
Started reading this but when they suggested I put string through a roll of toilet paper and wear it as a necklace when I'm travelling that was just too much. Gave up on the book and my next trip I will NOT be accessorizing with toilet paper.

Okay, so I read this book and many of the traveler's tips were so complicated. I definitely won't be packing a corkscrew. My head is swimming with all the suggestions, although there were some helpful suggestions that I hope that I will remember such as always bring a bathing suit. I didn't do that once because I was sure I wouldn't be needing one, and guess what? A lovely indoor pool at the hotel where we were staying. I did enjoy reading about women travelers of olden days.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This book is going into the potpourri bookbox organized by waternixie. The book is traveling to Aramena of Moore, Oklahoma.
I'll be traveling to England again this fall so I'll take a look at this and see if I gain any good tips from it! :)
Well, I can't say that I gained a ton of new ideas, but it wasn't a completely wasted read either. The info was written for ladies my grandma's age so some of it was a little hokey (like the toilet paper around the neck thing---who does that?) I really liked the Maya Angelou quote in the front, "...if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends." I've found the two things that have really caused me to expand my worldview and desire to understand other cultures are BookCrossing and traveling.
I plan to copy the pages in the back with ideas for international menus and suggested reading/watching.
This book is available for future release.
