Some people wait their whole lives to find their soul mates. But not Holly and Gerry. Childhood sweethearts, they could finish each other's sentences. This was a pleasant surprise! I was expecting this to be a mawkishly slushy tale & while of course it's obviously quite a sentimental story (& okay, I admit Chapter 23 did bring a tear to my eye) it's lifted by plenty of humour & helped by the fact that Holly is such an endearing character.

If you like Marian Keyes, you'll enjoy this & I certainly recommend it - though I don't think it would convert any non-chick-lit lovers to the genre!
