Journal Entry 1 by Supertalya on Wednesday, September 23, 2009
I picked this one up thinking it was a regular buy it at the grocery while waiting in line book. It's not. It kept my attention from the first day. I agree with the reviews that it can be compared to a Jodi Piccout novel. It was written beautiful and I felt the emotions of the characters. The information about memory was very appropriate. It was on the "A List" http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/30/AR2007113001287_3.html. I am going to get this to Ms. October for Southern Cross. I read somewhere this is a "literary summer read." It is almost summer in Australia and Ms. October likes "literary novels." Enjoy!

Thank you so much, Supertalya. I do like 'literary' novels, and I also had a thing for Jodi Picoult before she became so formulaic. I do like trying new authors. It sounds just my sort of thing, and, yes, we are gearing up for summer. (Not that you'd think it today!)

Once I've read this book, which I'll start tonight, I'll send it to AmberC as the winner of the Happy Smile Day Contest October 2009, as it's on her wishlist.

A really well-written book. I shan't say any more, as it'd be a spoiler, but I agree with Supertayla's thoughts on it. The link was interesting too.

Thanks so much. I was naughty and opened and read it before christmas... I'm not good at waiting! This was the perfect choice for me as I'm a fan of both Jodi Picoult and Jacquelyn Mitchard, although I thought that it read more like a Mitchard novel. It was a well written novel and I enjoyed it.
