This book really opened my eyes to other peoples needs, disabilities and Down's Syndrome. I did find it a little hard going at times, but I'm definatly very glad I read it! This book also shows that all humans, with enough stimulation and care can blossom and achieve their (personal) potential. I think everyone should be made to read this book, so they too can gain an understanding of Down's Syndrome and help lay to rest all the years of prejudice against people with it.

PS sorry to the next reader, my pasta leaked over a little bit of the book.

My Mummy came to see me today and I gave this book to her with a couple of others as I thought she would enjoy reading them. Also, this book in particular, I wanted her to hae as I thought it is relevant to the Degree she is studying for.

This is a very interesting book which reveals personal reactions of various family members to the birth of their girl who has Down's Syndrome. It is honest, sensitive, inspiring, and it forced me to consider my own feelings and thoughts about how I view disability. Every person who has a label such as this is first and foremost a person, an individual and not a generic example of anything. Don't we all wish to be thought of in terms of our own merit? Thank you Andy Merriman for putting your experiences and feelings down on paper. Bless you and your lovely daughter, and thank you to my own lovely daughter Shahrun who gave me this book to read. The degree held me back from finishing this book earlier or it would have been available much sooner!
