A Royal Pain (A Royal Spyness Mystery)

Quite the same as No 1. Nice to read, enjoyable, but not exceptional ;-)
To make ends meet, slightly impoverished but well-connected Lady Georgiana Rannoch takes on house-cleaning jobs in disguise in Agatha-winner Bowen's enchanting second mystery set in 1930s England (after 2007's Her Royal Spyness). A tea invitation from the queen, however, sets her on a new mission. Georgiana must house and chaperone a young Bavarian princess the queen hopes to set up with the prince of Wales, thus diverting his attention from his current American love interest. The princess proves to be quite a handful, naïve and addicted to slang. Invitations to the palace, country house weekends and swinging parties are provided for her amusement. When a series of unfortunate deaths arouses Georgiana's suspicions, she launches an investigation that culminates in a startlingly bloody conclusion. Fans will welcome the return of this spunky heroine, 34th in line to the British throne. (amazon)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Nice mystery romp (second in the series) with Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie of Glen Garry and Rannoch, aka Georgie, who has been asked by the Queen to play host to Princess Hannelore of Bavaria, the Royal Pain of the title...
Several deaths later, to say nothing of a brush with the English communist party, and relations between England and Bavaria might become strained.
Nice cameo roles by Wallis Simpson and The Prince of Wales round out this fluffy fun thing.
Off to the Netherlands!!
Now it is on its way to Tsjara!
Thank you Kiki66 for organizing the ring, and Alienagr for sending it so quickly and for the intriguing card from M.C. Escher :)
I will probably start reading it tomorrow.
And there were a few clues along the way so this one was easier to solve.. :)
I will definitely keep an eye out for the rest of the series.
I already have Rossella05's address, so I will try to send it out this week.
Mailed the book out today, and is now on its way to the UK :)
Happy reading!

Somehow, the Easter holidays got into the way of my reading the book - I'm sorry about taking so long.
It was another nice and funny read with some characters that made me want to jump down their throats (Chief Inspector Burnal - *grrr*) and some hints that have Darcy O'Meara sound still more interesting...

Her Royal Spyness did not have to wait too long, after all... :-) I enjoyed the book, it's an easy read, and much fun. Hope there's more to come...
