1984 Pan Books paperback of the 1982 horse racing thriller. I found this copy this morning in the free books pile on the porch of Dimond Library. By the stamps inside, it originated from an independent bookseller in Drayton Valley, then from the Bay Area Free Book Exchange a few towns north of here.

Two years later, I legitimately found this again out in the wild, so it deserves another entry. I found it today in a box of kids books next to the Laurel Elementary School Little Free Library. That's only a mile away from where I left it years ago. So I will give this another release to a location farther out this time.
